On the Road
One Spark Films is in the finalist round of the Short Film Contest 2009 hosted by the Doorpost Film Project. In the first round of competition our short film “La Pluma” made the top ten. “La Pluma” was shot in Guatemala City, Guatemala as a narrative of the interaction between two young boys reflecting on a life lesson from their grandfather. We are happy to say that “La Pluma” had the third highest view rating out of all the first round Doorpost contestants.

As production and popularity grows within the Indie film scene, we hope to use “The Guest Room” as a catalyst for our productions. The best film in the finals will be awarded $100,000 and immense publicity within the film community.
Our film is set apart from competitors because we are shooting across three states and already have an international audience. The Doorpost Project has had traffic from over one-hundred and eighty counties and One Spark Films has a support base in Guatemala.
“The Guest Room” is the fourth production for One Spark within the last six months. Having created a music video for Texas A&M University, a short documentary for Safe Passage in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and a short film for the first round of the Doorpost Short Film contest, we intend for “The Guest Room” to continue our mission behind filmmaking.
